About the Winery

Thrall & Dodge Winery is the oldest commercial operating winery in the Kittitas Valley located north of the Yakima Valley near Ellensburg. We produce premium wines grown, produced, cellared, and served all from the Columbia Valley AVA. Located South of Ellensburg and just east of the Yakima River, the Thrall & Dodge Winery is perched on Manastash Ridge 1500 ft level near the intersection of Boylston and Saddle Mountains. This scenic area is known as the fruit basket of Kittitas Valley. The winery enjoys a regional view looking out to the Valley and the Stuart Mountain Range. The winery houses a small stage, bocce ball court, and picnic area. Please contact us if you are interested in booking a private tasting or other event. Like our wine? Winemaker, Troy Goodreau and Winery Manager, Kimberly Goodreau

Troy Goodreau
Troy’s love of wine began early and was encouraged by family and friends. He apprenticed under Manfred Vierthaler helping him build a winery in exchange for winemaking instruction at the tender age of 19. He also planted his first vineyard of over 400 vines in the Hood Canal region. Troy’s wine education continued at Napa Valley College for Enology where he refined his winemaking style. While in California, Troy entered amateur wine competitions in Napa Valley and near UC Davis where he won first, second, and third for his Chardonnay, Zinfandel, and blends. At this point Troy had an opportunity to move back to the Kittitas Valley where he established the Thrall & Dodge Winery in 2005.

Kimberly Goodreau
Winery Manager
Kim is responsible for all of the direct management of the winery, events, and the wine tasting room in Kittitas, WA.  She is a retired Social Worker where she spent the majority of her career helping people in need. We love our wines...and so do you!

As soon as you step in the door Jamie comes around from behind the counter with a big welcoming smile that makes you feel right at home. We started with whites which is common and though we are not white wine fans the Viognier we liked. We ended up picking up their Syrah and Merlot to take home. Loved meeting DeeDee and Donna too, a local mom and daughter duo who has convinced us to come back in August for the Kruisin Festival!
~ Toni & Shirley W.

The wine flight is the best deal around! Gets your juices flowing and ready for a glass or two and a bottle for home. Loved the Chardonnay (bottle for home),Merlot bueno !the Tractor Red a big hit! The “red head” in charge whips up an awesome cheese and meat platter. Sounds like the pulled pork sandwich is a favorite also, will have to try it next time! Truly a gem in the heart of Kittitas, well done Kim and Troy!
~ Carolyn F.

Thoroughly enjoyed the visit! Made the mistake of gifting a bottle so … looks like another trip back! May have to enjoy one of the rooms? BTW, the gift was a total HIT! Thanks guys.
~ Maria H.

On our from Seattle to Richland, saw the sign for Thrall & Dodge Winery. Had a wonderful experience. Amazing customer service from the young man running the bar. The wines were excellent, we especially liked the badger roam wine. This establishment was very clean and very well maintained. Had a chance to meet the owners before leaving, very friendly people!! We will definitely stop through again the next time we pass through the area.
~ Michelle E.

Amazing wine and amazing stories. Our favorite winery in all of Washington!
~ Erin C.

~ Sandy G.M.

I love the setting, the people and the wine…this yrs Syrah is awesome and the reserve would be awesome with a nice ribeye or even a flank steak!!
~ Linda S.

Just had your chardonnay with bbq shrimp. Prefect pairing. The buttery smoothness of the wine perfectly complimented the tang of the peppered shrimp. We were surprised at how good they were together. We’ll back for another bottle.
~ Cedron D.

Wonderful place to stop on the way home. Good wine and decent prices.
~ Kathy H.

Took my friend today. Had a wonderful tasting and wonderful service from Brian.
